Photographed in the hills of Basilicata, this session takes place in a family home overlooking olive groves and dry fields. The meals were made slowly, with ingredients gathered from nearby markets and gardens. No moments were styled, only observed. Each image is a quiet record of how food was shared, served, and remembered in a place where tradition is felt more than spoken.

A Table Behind the Lens
Food. Framed. Served raw or roasted—

Ciao, I’m not a chef, but I’ve spent my life photographing people who are. Along the way, I’ve kept notebooks of meals that stuck with me. Some were spontaneous; others became rituals. These recipes aren’t styled for the camera, they’re what I make when the lens is off and the kitchen is still warm. A few of them are here, free to download, or to simply read and pass along.
